Mrs. Flory

Today I had the pleasure to interview Mrs.Flory!  Here are some of the questions I asked her. What is your favorite thing to do outside of school? She said dance and exercise. Next I asked her how many siblings do she have? And she said she has one brother and one sister. The third thing I asked her is what are your hopes and dreams? And she said “I hope that every student I teach learns and knows they have value.” The fourth thing I asked her is “What are some things special about you that others may not know about?” And she said I am going to be a certified WERQ instructor (dance exercise). The last thing I asked her is what do you do when school is over? And she said I go out to dinner with my husband and spend quality time together. Well thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy Bye!

Matterhorn Macaroons

(These are a sweet Disney treat you should try it!)

Matterhorn Macaroons

Inspired by the Original Treat at Disneyland
Makes 12 Macaroons

Ingredients:

1 cup room temperature butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon coconut extract
1 cup sweetened, shredded coconut – see note below for how to prepare coconut
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 bag of Wilton Bright White Candy melts
decorators sugar for sprinkling

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°. Get out an ungreased baking sheet

2. Cream together your butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add salt, extracts, and flour and mix until just combined. Add one cup of coconut (processed in the food processor as described below) and fold in gently.

3. Form into 12 matterhorn mounds and bake until lightly golden around the edges (around 15 minutes.)

4. Remove from oven and cool completely. Melt candy melts as directed on package and dip the tops of your matterhorns in. Sprinkle with decorators sugar.

That’s it! It sounds so simple and delicious, don’t you think? I’m in! After all, it’s great to have a few treat tricks up my sleeve to tide me over between Disneyland adventures. :-)

Christmas

Merry Christmas in England!  In England the children don’t call Santa, “Santa”, they call him Father Christmas.  Carolers go next door to everyone in town singing carols to spread joy around.  So that’s why I say Merry Christmas England!

What is Matter?

states_matter_1Matter is liquids, solids, and gases.  A liquid  takes the shape of its surroundings and its wet examples like a river, the ocean pools, and many other things.

Gas

Gas is invisible.  Examples can be air, steam, smoke. These are all gases and they are all over every where you  go! Gas,  gas, gas! That’s all, we breathe air in and out! Without gas we wouldn’t be breathing. Some gas is bad, like black smoke from fires.

Solids

Solids are very important  because without solids we wouldn’t have houses, tables, and many other important things in life.
